Reminds me of the title of an old movie, The Ship of Fools. Only it's the World of Fools. As Catherine Fitts said, " Once one understands Love, one can't fathom why anyone would reject that and embrace evil ( fear ), because it's so stupid, it's so wasteful, and it's so unnecessary. "
Sums it up, I'd say. We could be living in a Heaven, but instead continue to choose Hell.......
How does one know one is in Hell? If one has fears, whether continually or sporadically, then that's a huge clue.......
When I was a remodeler doing business in Cambridge, MA ( Home of Harvard and MIT ), I'd be working on homes where the parents would be freaking out, trying to get their young kids into an Ivy league preparatory kindergarten. Panic was in the air, for weeks on end....What would you call that ? Heaven ??? LOL.
I received this from a friend @GillesnFio. I happen to agree with him.
The Virtue of Israel
The Israelis converted deserts and swamps into centres for science, technology, engineering, and agriculture. They created desalination and water purification systems, pharmaceutical plants, biomedical devices and therapies, and myriad other life-serving values. In so doing, the Israelis raised the standard of living not only for themselves, but also for virtually everyone on the planet. From flash drives to pill cameras to bacteria-resistant textiles to cherry tomatoes, Israelis have rained life-serving values on the world.
Zionism is essentially a belief that Jewish people have a moral Right to a nation of their own to develop and to defend. A Right rightfully earned not because of any history or heritage there actually is between the area and the Jewish people, but because the Jews substantially accomplished establishing a Rights respecting state in an area where no respect for Rights existed before.
NB This is substantially different from what the Marxists say about Zionism.
The Jews formed a state substantially dedicated to the protection of individual rights; formed in a region in which no rights-respecting state already existed; and they substantially followed thru on the aim of protecting individual rights. This is why Israel is a legitimate state and why Israel has a moral obligation to destroy and crush those who openly call for the extermination of the Jewish people.
Islamic Israelis of Arab ancestry do have the right to vote in Israel for representatives in the Knesset. So, the BS you hear about Israel being an apartheid state is exactly that BS.
I am a South African and during Apartheid Black people did not have the vote . Coloured people did and so did Indians. However Blacks in their homelands that were established did have voting rights
So why don't the residents for generations (what I assume you and your friend would call Palestinians) in the land of Israel, Gaza, West Bank, East Jerusalem, etc., not automatically qualify for Israeli citizenship and the 'vote'? Why are they kept separated? Why are they denied free access to all parts of the state? Why are they having there houses bulldozed and the land taken for Israeli settlements? Why are they being coerced to move on to wherever? If the Palestinians in Gaza must leave Gaza why not let them move to Israel? After all, they have been in the area for generations and there isn't apartheid, is there?
In other words, I disagree with you and your friend and I accept my questions will not change your mind, just as your comment hasn't changed mine.
You're conflating issues. What is keeping populations separate is Gaza and Jordan. You seem you ignore unpalatable factsthat Gaza voted for Hamas in 2005 and Israel pulled out.
Israel created Hamas. Hamas won the election in 2006 and decided to attack the Fatah party. It was provided with lots of free money that it was supposed to spend on the development of Gaza. After all the citizens of Gaza entrusted them did, they not?
Hamas were the elected government of Gaza, and has been so since the Israelis in 2005 voluntarily ended their occupation. Much of the population lives in dire poverty and relies on humanitarian aid. That humanitarian aid was not distributed fairly.
Hamas Elite tasted the fine life and decided to take most of the donations for their Elite to live in opulence in Iran and Lebanon. They got greedy and went rogue and attacked the hand that fed them. That was not the fault of Israel.
During the conflicts, there has been an intra-Palestinian political split: Hamas controls the Gaza Strip, while the Palestinian Authority, dominated by the Fatah party, governs the partially autonomous territories in the West Bank as we know.
Consider that since the handover to Hamas in 2005/2006 Hamas has continued its attacks on Israel from Gaza, declaring them to be "self-defense." There have been four armed conflicts with the Israeli army so far: from 2008-09, and in 2012, 2014, and 2021. Israel has done what they can to protect themselves and responded in kind during these conflicts and have warned Hamas
Israel subsequently declared Gaza a "hostile territory" and tightened its extensive and ongoing closure, implemented in part by Egypt, which shares the southwest border. Israel and, to a lesser extent, Egypt, control the land, sea, and air access to the Palestinian enclave.
After many years of enduring them bites from their creation, they had had enough. Hamas had used the territory as a launchpad for attack on Israel. Anyone would understand if you child you created tuned on you and insulted you publicly for so long. One will can endure only so much. Israel waited for an opportunity to destroy their Hamas creation. It came on Oct 7 2023.
Hamas attacked Israel and provoked a response. Hamas made a huge mistake and miscalculation and are suffering the consequences of their decisions and actions. Maybe it Hamas was made promised by Iran and Lebanon? Who knows? It does take two to tango anyway.
It is unfortunate in any war that civilians are in the crossfire. They are pawns and are expendable to both sides. That is the nature of war and conflict. One does have to credit Israel for providing warning of impending action to civilians, unheard of in modern warfare. They are endangering their own troops.
Yes it is sad, but it is not a Genocide, it is a consequence of war. Never turn on the hand that feeds you should be the lesson.
As I said above Islamic Israelis of Arab ancestry do have the right to vote in Israel for representatives in the Knesset. In which Arab countries do Jews have voting rights?
Israel cannot simply turn the other cheek. They have the right and duty to protect themselves and their people in Israel from harm, even if it pisses some off. It is what it is.

So you support the right of Genocide because some Jews using US Taxpayer money built a place called Israel that does not exist in the Bible.

Israel has no rights to commit genocide whatever the reason. Israel has no right to force people off their land just because they want to expand.
As I said before: I don't expect to change your mind and you haven't made a dent in mine.
Go in peace if you can.
